A Note About Edgartown
Our ceremony and reception are directly across the street from one another, and the after party will also be within walking distance. If you stay in or near downtown Edgartown, much of the wedding weekend can be enjoyed on foot.
Plan Early
Late August is one of the busiest times of year on Martha’s Vineyard. We recommend booking accommodations and transportation as early as possible.
Where to Stay
A range of options for different styles and budgets.
Summer is the busiest season on Martha’s Vineyard, so we recommend reserving your hotel, inn or rental sooner rather than later. Rates below are approximate and may change; please confirm availability, pricing and minimum-stay requirements directly when booking.
More Places to Look
By air, ferry or car - choose the route that works best for your trip.
Martha’s Vineyard is an island off the coast of Massachusetts and can be reached by plane or ferry. If you’re driving, a ferry will be the final leg of your trip - there is no bridge to the island.
Traveling from Ireland
We recommend flying into Boston Logan International Airport (BOS). Nonstop service is available from both Dublin (DUB) and Shannon (SNN) on Aer Lingus. You can complete U.S. immigration and customs preclearance before departure, making arrival in Boston much easier.
From Boston, you have several options:
Boston → Martha’s Vineyard (MVY)
Connect at Boston Logan for the short flight to Martha’s Vineyard Airport. Cape Air operates year-round service, with additional seasonal flights in summer. The flight is approximately 40 minutes; downtown Edgartown is about 15 minutes from MVY.
Boston → Woods Hole → Martha’s Vineyard
Travel to Woods Hole and take the Steamship Authority ferry. The crossing is approximately 45 minutes and arrives in Vineyard Haven or, seasonally, Oak Bluffs.
Boston → Falmouth → Edgartown
If you are not bringing a car, the seasonal Falmouth–Edgartown Ferry (Pied Piper) travels directly into Edgartown Harbor - a particularly convenient option if you are staying downtown.
Traveling from Within the U.S.
You can fly directly into Martha’s Vineyard Airport (MVY). During the summer, nonstop flights are typically available from Boston, New York (JFK and LGA), Washington Reagan, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Chicago O’Hare and Westchester/White Plains. Summer 2027 routes should be confirmed when booking.
If there isn’t a convenient nonstop flight from your home airport, connecting through Boston or New York is often the easiest option.
Ferries, Driving & Getting Around
A few details that will make an island weekend much easier.

Ferry Information & Reservations
Late August is the peak season. If you plan to bring a car, reserve vehicle space as soon as summer 2027 reservations become available. If you do not need your car on the island, you can park on the mainland and travel as a walk-on passenger.
2027 Ferry Schedules
August 2027 ferry schedules have not yet been released. We’ll update this information as the wedding gets closer. In the meantime, the links above have current schedules, fares and reservation information.
Getting Around the Island
If you’re staying in downtown Edgartown, you may find that you don’t need a car at all. Our ceremony and reception are both in town, and many hotels, restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
Taxis & Rideshares are available between the airport, ferry terminals, hotels and island towns.
Vineyard Transit Authority (VTA) connects all six Martha’s Vineyard towns, including Edgartown, Oak Bluffs and Vineyard Haven, as well as the airport.
Rental Cars are available if you’d like more flexibility. August availability can be limited, so reserve ahead. Bikes are another popular way to explore, with rentals readily available in Edgartown and other island towns.
A Few Helpful Tips
The little things that make an island weekend easier.
Bringing a car?
Reserve Steamship Authority vehicle space as early as possible. Late-August sailings can fill quickly.
Traveling without a car?
Flying directly to MVY or taking a passenger ferry can be much easier, especially if you’re staying in Edgartown.
Allow extra time.
Summer traffic on Cape Cod can be heavy, so build in plenty of time if you’re driving to a ferry terminal.
Book early.
August is one of the busiest times of year on Martha’s Vineyard, so flights, ferries, rental cars and accommodations are best booked well in advance.
Our Recommendation
If you’re coming primarily for the wedding weekend and staying in or near downtown Edgartown, you can comfortably enjoy the weekend without bringing a car. If you’re extending your trip and want to explore more of the island, having a car may be worthwhile.
A few essentials for a late-summer weekend on the Vineyard.
Late August on Martha’s Vineyard is typically warm and summery during the day, with cooler temperatures and ocean breezes in the evenings. Pack for comfort, with a few elevated pieces for the wedding festivities and evenings out.
For the Wedding
The wedding attire is Vineyard Chic - elegant, polished and summery, with a touch of coastal style. Festive and sophisticated without being overly formal.
Edgartown has historic brick sidewalks and uneven surfaces, so comfortable footwear is a good idea.
For the Rest of Your Stay
Martha’s Vineyard is wonderfully casual during the day. Pack comfortable summer clothes for strolling through Edgartown, exploring the island, shopping, sightseeing or heading to the beach. Resort casual or smart casual works well for most restaurants and evenings out.
Bring a swimsuit and beachwear, comfortable walking shoes or sneakers, sandals, sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen. If you plan to bike, hike, sail or spend time on the water, pack accordingly.
Don’t Forget a Layer
Even after a warm August day, evenings can be cool and breezy, particularly near the water and on the ferry. Bring a light sweater, wrap or jacket, as well as a lightweight rain jacket or small umbrella just in case.
